The Community Outreach section supports the USSOCOM Warrior Care Program (Care Coalition) mission by establishing relationships with non-government entities in order to provide support for wounded, ill, and injured service members within the Special Operations community. The Community Outreach section is responsible for adherence to the Wounded Warrior Assistance Act and for vetting individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations, in order to ensure compatibility with all Department of Defense rules, regulations, and standards. While the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs work to provide for the needs of Special Operations service members and their families, there are often gaps in support during the treatment, recovery, and reintegration processes. The Community Outreach section seeks to bridge these gaps by providing an avenue, directly to the service members in need, for non-government goods, services, and support provided by benevolent and charitable entities.
