Media Operations

A core public affairs mission is to provide timely, accurate and truthful information to local, national, and international publics. Commanders, with the assistance of public affairs, will take a proactive posture to build and maintain key relationships between their units and the media. SOF media engagements will maximize the ability to protect operator and family identities, classified information, and maintain the appropriate level of OPSEC while also allowing media coverage that supports the accomplishment of the command’s objectives and supports the command priorities. Commanders will prepare for potential media interest in all command programs, plans and actions.
