Upon joining the ARE, Soldiers will attend the five-day Introduction to Special Operations Forces - Foundations Course before reporting to their directorate.

Officer-in-Charge Notes

Greetings from SOCOM ARE,

It can be challenging at times being an ARE Soldier. ARE personnel provide crucial individual assistance to the Command, Agencies, and Directorates. Assignments are tailored to each Soldier's individual expertise and outlined in their YTP. The nature of this support demands attention to detail and flexibility in duty performance.

As a reminder, priorities are:

- Duty Military Occupational Specialty Qualification (DMOSQ)

- Professional Military Education (PME)

- OER/NCOER

- Medical Readiness

- Yearly Training Plans

- Tenure for ARE Soldiers is THREE years but can be extended to four or five years with an approved ETP.

- Foundry a Department of the Army G-2 training program, led by the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), that assists Commanders, and G2s by serving as the coordination point to obtain Military Intelligence training opportunities otherwise not available at the tactical echelon or through the institutional training system. The Foundry program is tasked to support the MI collective training environment, conduct advanced intelligence training, and intelligence community certification for the US Army.List of Foundry courses can be found at the links below. below. https://ikn.army.mil/apps/IKNHostedWebsites/Foundry https://intellipedia.intelink.gov/wiki/List_of_Foundry_Courses
