Business Process for Prototyping
As USSOCOM's Joint Acquisition Task Force (JATF), we seek to investigate technology areas, bring in sector technology experts, and conduct short-term (1-2 wk) sprints to determine the viability of a technology solution for SOF purposes. We are seeking a robust, streamlined, repeatable and scalable business process to investigate the technology areas; to execute events for prototyping and technology discovery; to design, build, fabricate and evaluate functional prototypes, to include field testing in a SOF operational environment; and to capture, record and analyze the results of the prototyping events.
Anticipated services under this business process may include:
- Event coordination and facilitation
- Identifying industry SMEs and securing their availability for the events
- Sourcing of materials. Both prior to event kick-off and during event execution (items may need to be secured locally same-day)
- Event documentation; media production during event (pictures/video), storyboarding post-event, documentation of lessons learned, etc.
- Prototype Development support
- Fabrication of parts, ability to obtain specialized services (welder, designer, etc)
- Prototype testing support
- Local facility access for evaluating prototypes in relevant operational environments, when necessary
