Amputee Care Center Providing Continuity of Care
The Amputee Care Center's multidisciplinary team is
focused on providing you continuity of care throughout your acute care
and rehabilitative process. This process consists of three general
stages:
Stage 1: Acute Surgical & Medical Management:
During this stage the orthopedic surgical team is the lead agent for
your care. They will ensure that your residual limb allows the maximal
function possible and that your other extremity injuries are treated.
Stage 2: Inpatient Rehabilitation:
During this stage a physical medicine physician manages your medical and
rehabilitative care. The goal of this phase is to prepare you to
function independently outside of the hospital environment.
Stage 3: Outpatient Rehabilitation:
This stage involves rehabilitative, surgical, and medical care as an
outpatient while you continue to work toward your functional goals.
